Connect Your Prop Account to TradingView

NinjaTrader Prop supports full TradingView integration, letting funded and evaluation traders execute trades directly from TradingView's charts while their prop account stays connected. If your setup already runs through TradingView's charts and community indicators, you don't have to rebuild it once you move to an evaluation or funded account.

Here's what the integration means for prop traders, what you need before you connect, and how to get set up.

What TradingView integration means for prop traders

TradingView integration lets you place trades on your NinjaTrader Prop account directly from TradingView's charting interface, without switching between platforms mid-session. Every order still routes through your prop account's existing execution and risk controls.

For prop traders, that pairing matters most during an evaluation, when the pressure to stick with a familiar setup is highest. See the full scope of TradingView integration available across NinjaTrader Prop accounts, from charting to order routing.

Whichever firm holds your account, the same TradingView setup goes with you.

What you need before you connect

TradingView access for a NinjaTrader Prop account is managed by the trader's prop firm rather than a separate paid subscription; traders should confirm enablement directly with their firm before connecting. Have these three things ready before you start:

  • An active funded or evaluation account with a prop firm that runs on NinjaTrader Prop: Firms outside that network can't be connected, no matter how the request is worded.
  • TradingView access turned on for that account: Your firm controls this switch, not NinjaTrader, so confirm it before you try to connect rather than troubleshoot a failed login after the fact.
  • Your prop firm-issued credentials on hand—the same ones you already use to trade: TradingView asks for these directly, not a separate TradingView username.

What it means: Prop and evaluation accounts get TradingView access as part of the firm's plan, at no extra cost. Retail brokerage accounts use a separate paid TradingView subscription, so the two setups aren't interchangeable.

Confirm TradingView access with your firm, then you're ready to connect.

How to connect your prop account to TradingView

To connect a prop account to TradingView, traders log in to TradingView, click Trade, select NinjaTrader, choose Demo, and log in with their prop firm-issued credentials.

  1. Log in to TradingView with your TradingView username and password.
  2. Click the Trade button at the top-right of the screen and select NinjaTrader from the list of supported brokers.
  3. At the account type screen, select Demo (prop and evaluation accounts connect via Demo trading on TradingView, regardless of your funded or evaluation status), then select Connect.
  4. Enter your prop firm-issued username and password to confirm the connection.

The connection succeeds when TradingView displays your account details and trading stats, confirming your prop account is live and ready to trade from its charts.

For click-by-click screenshots of every screen, see NinjaTrader's TradingView Connection Guide.

From here, your prop account and TradingView stay linked until you disconnect them or your firm changes your access.

What changes once you're connected

Once connected, NinjaTrader Prop traders can apply custom indicators and Pine Script strategies from TradingView while orders route through their existing prop firm risk controls.

  • Trade straight from TradingView's charts instead of duplicating your setup in NinjaTrader Desktop.
  • Your prop firm sees TradingView trades the same way it sees NinjaTrader Desktop trades, since both route through the same account.
  • Switch between the two platforms without re-entering your credentials each session.

Pair the connection with other top tech tools for prop traders to round out your setup.

However you split your time between the two platforms, your account stays connected.

Troubleshooting a connection that isn't working

Most connection issues trace back to account setup rather than TradingView itself. Work through these checks before contacting support.

Most connection issues trace back to account setup rather than TradingView itself.

  • Confirm your prop firm has enabled TradingView access on your account; without it, the connection fails even with correct credentials.
  • Re-enter your prop firm-issued username and password directly, since saved or autofilled credentials are a common source of failed logins.
  • Log out of TradingView and reconnect using the Trade button if a previous session is still active.
  • Check with your prop firm if your evaluation or funded account status recently changed, since some transitions temporarily affect connections.

If the issue continues, NinjaTrader Prop and evaluation account inquiries covers common account-level questions, or check out our beginner's guide to getting started with NinjaTrader Prop if you're still setting up your account.

In most cases, a quick recheck of access and credentials will resolve the connection.
